Sarah Badding is the Assistant Director for Education and Development at Colorado State University’s School of Global Environmental Sustainability (SoGES). In this role, Sarah leads the School’s academic programming and educational strategy, including development of interdisciplinary curriculum, coordination of undergraduate and graduate sustainability credentials, and partnerships with colleges across the university to expand access to climate and sustainability education. She supports faculty in designing and launching new courses and degree programs, cultivates student engagement opportunities, and oversees initiatives that connect CSU’s sustainability mission to the community.
Sarah has an interdisciplinary background in human centered design, program development, and systems thinking. Prior this role, she served as Education Lead for CSU’s Climate Initiative, co-developing the university’s first climate change certificate and minor and collaborating on proposals for new interdisciplinary climate curricula. Sarah holds a Ph.D. in organizational development and has extensive experience in organizational leadership, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Sarah runs and is the point of contact for the following areas: interdisciplinary curriculum development and coordination; climate and sustainability minors and certificates; dual-enrollment; student recruitment and advising for SoGES programs; and education-related outreach initiatives. She also represents the School in CSU’s curriculum governance processes, contributes to the President’s Sustainability Commission, and works closely with the Climate Initiative and other partners to advance CSU’s role as a leader in climate and sustainability education.
