Research Summary: My interests fall at the intersection of nature, human well-being, and sustainable behavior. More specifically, I examine how spending time in nature and improving our relationship with the natural world can benefit both our personal well-being and willingness to engage in pro-environmental behavior. We often think of being sustainable as having to make “sacrifices,” but evidence is beginning to demonstrate that nature connection and acting proenvironmentally both support human well-being. My current projects aim to bridge the divide between research and practice, increasing collaboration between researchers and practitioners to find applied, nature-based solutions that support human and environmental well-being alike.
