Managing the Planet :: Chocolate and Sustainability
From cacao farms to local shops, chocolate carries stories of culture, craft, and justice. Join us for a panel discussion exploring the intersections of chocolate and sustainability—from the classroom to the community. This panel brings together a faculty member developing a course on chocolate and sustainability, a local fair-trade bean-to-bar chocolatier, and a scholar of food justice and social movements. Together, they will reflect on how something as everyday as chocolate can open up vital conversations about ethics, equity, and sustainability.
Panelists:
Mark Gale, Department of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering
Tyler Ryan, Business Owner, Nuance Chocolate
Josh Sbicca, Department of Sociology
Moderated by:
Dale Lockwood, Assistant Professor, Departments of Biology and School of Global Environmental Sustainability
