Research Summary: My research focuses on valuing ecosystem services as an input into fishery production. I examine the relationship between water quality indicators (oxygen saturation and nutrient loads) and the productivity of marine and freshwater fisheries. This is important because fishery production is an important source of income for many people across the world and as such, fishery management aims at improving the likelihood of sustainable fisheries to ensure equitable allocation of fishery resources and profits. In my research, I model fishery production as dependent on water quality. I then find the impact of changing water quality on welfare.
