Community-engaged initiatives within public health are sorely needed to enhance community resilience to climate-related threats. This proposed course will use experiential learning to provide Environmental and Public Health (EPH) students with the skills to translate global climate change and health needs into actions in local contexts and it will provide them with an understanding of critical theories, models, and practices of community engaged learning (e.g., environmental justice, sustainability, and resilience). This innovative, partner-informed curriculum contributes directly to CSU’s land-grant mission and will enable CSU students to apply interdisciplinary approaches to health-relevant climate change readiness and resiliency at the local level.
