Research Summary: My work focuses on soil health, and how to build or maintain it with different farm management practices. Soils are a critical piece to the sustainability of our food production systems, and many conventional practices degrade soil functioning, which has negative impacts on yield, biodiversity and environmental quality. In my research, I assess how increasing plant and animal diversity in cropping systems changes soil properties important for yield and the environment.
