Associate Sustainability Specialist – Building Compliance at Mortenson

Sara is an Associate Sustainability Specialist at Mortenson, where she supports regional operating groups across the United States on a wide range of sustainability needs. In this role, she helps advance strategy, compliance, education, and project implementation across Mortenson’s diverse portfolio of construction and development activities.

Previously, Sara served as the Sustainability Manager at Mainspring, a B Corp–certified real estate and business development firm in Denver, where she led sustainability across commercial, residential, and food & beverage properties. During her time at Mainspring, she built and scaled the company’s sustainability program, supporting energy audits, electrification and solar projects, grant writing, compliance, reporting, and the achievement of B Corp Certification.

Sara holds a BS in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability from Colorado State University and served as the Director of the Student Sustainability Center at SoGES from May of 2019 through 2020.
