Research Summary: Dr. Suryanarayanan focused on laying groundwork for interdisciplinary research on the causes and effects of climate change legislation on the topology and operation of emerging electric distribution systems.  Particular focus will be on creating mathematical models of optimal topologies and operation philosophies of the distribution grid that include various emerging assets such as renewable energy sources, energy storage devices including plug-in hybrid vehicles subject to constraints of climate change regulation.
