Research Summary: My research falls at the intersection of education, science communication, and human-nature interactions. More specifically, I want to understand how the social and cultural aspects of learning shape our definitions of nature, and how this impacts our attitudes and behaviors towards the environment. For example, how people’s lived experiences may lead to negative relationships with nature that cause environmental issues, like pollution. My current projects aim to use informal education to bridge the research-to-practice-to-society gaps to promote transdisciplinary studies focused on finding more sustainable and healthier ways to relate with nature that benefit both the environment and humans alike.
