Research Summary: I study alpine birds threatened by climate and land use change so we can preserve and protect them for generations to come. More specifically, I work with the white-tailed ptarmigan, a bird that lives at the highest elevations above tree line. My work links ptarmigan survival and movement to climate and habitat from the past and the present to better understand the white-tailed ptarmigan life cycle and how it could change in the future. With this science I hope to help inform and prioritize management for some of our most unique wildlife and ecosystems.
