Research Summary: My research examines the perceptions that mathematics faculty and students hold regarding who is responsible for teaching the mathematics that explicates and supports a critical understanding of issues of sustainability and climate change. I explore barriers that prevent faculty in engaging in this interdisciplinary work as well as systems that support this engagement. I also explore what students of mathematics courses seek from the curriculum as relevant to their academic and personal lives.
