Research Summary: My research broadly focuses on how extreme thunderstorms will be different in a future where the average temperature is higher due to climate change. I use complex, high-resolution models to look at how specific storm characteristics and hazards, such as hail, flooding, and severe wind, will change in different future scenarios with varying warming amounts. I also use my results to contemplate the resulting impacts on society and to brainstorm ways to plan and adapt to mitigate the worst-case scenarios. My work focuses on the Southern Plains region of the United States, which includes Texas and surrounding states.
