Research Summary: Power Systems Beyond the Grid: modern power systems must address challenges and opportunities arising not only internally but also from interacting technological systems. My research focuses on the interaction and scalability between power systems and other systems under uncertain and distributed environments. First, with the transportation system, I study stochastic planning of storage-equipped EV charging stations to balance cost efficiency and resilience. Second, with the economic system (electricity wholesale markets), I investigate transmission–distribution coordination with DER aggregators. Third, with AI systems, I explore explainable reinforcement learning and neural networks for voltage–reactive power control in three-phase unbalanced distribution networks.
