Research Summary: Water is intimately connected with the food and energy systems in the cities. However, climate change combined with the effects of population growth and increase in water demand, puts a lot of cities around the world under a huge challenge to find fresh water supplies. I study different hydro-geographic, climatic and socio-economic forces that influence end water use across major cities in the contiguous U.S.A. Through my research I strive to identify and provide a range of pathways, tying together policies, engineering solutions and socio-economic factors, to sustainably manage the contemporary precious resource of humanity, water.
