Research Summary: My research quantifies the climate impact of beef finishing systems and how a changing climate poses a risk to beef production by assessing economic, social, and environmental outcomes of Bos indicus and Bos taurus species of cattle across two seasons, summer and winter, in two production systems. Following the completion of this research the risk that climate change poses to the adaptive capacity and resiliency of finishing cattle will be quantified and improved baseline data regarding the climate impact of the fed cattle industry will be available to assist feedlot managers in making cattle management decisions in a changing climate.
