Research Summary: I am interested in understanding why landscapes have the shapes they have, what we can infer from them, and how they evolve over time, on scales ranging from a few minutes, like natural hazards, to millions of years, like the growth of mountains. I study the marine terraces and rivers of southern Italy to understand the dynamics of the structures of the Earth’s interior that lie beneath them. This area is particularly special because it is a natural laboratory for understanding these processes on a larger scale in other parts of the world.
