Research Summary: I am investigating the impacts of climate change on wood warblers, which are small migratory birds that fly between North and South America each year. I’m researching how the timing of their life events, such as breeding and molting, are changing as temperatures increase. In addition to this, I am investigating potential spatial biases in bird banding data. Spatial biases can occur if we are not sampling all habitat types equally during bird banding efforts. Finally, as part of my research I am surveying bird banding participants to determine how demographics impact an individual’s experiences while bird banding.
