Research Summary: Air pollution is the fifth leading human health risk factor globally and it has impacts on visibility and climate, directly and indirectly. Wildfire is one of the major contributors to air pollution around the world, especially in the western US. Particle- and gas-phase evolution and compositions from wildfires are poorly understood. My research is to develop a computational model to understand different physicochemical gas- and particle-phase processes which will help us and other scientists to understand the health and climate impacts of wildfire.
