Research Summary: I am interested in understanding how resilient and sustainable industrial communities on the effect of climate change. Sea Level Rise is considered to be one of the main impacts of climate change as it threatens the coastal communities with flooding and inundation hazards. Since natural hazards such as hurricanes and flooding have resulted in billions of dollars in damage annually, the emphasis of my present research has been on these natural hazards coupled with future SLR. One of my recent publications showed the hidden costs to building foundations due to sea level rise along the Gulf of Mexico.
