SoGES continues to celebrate our 10^th anniversary year by reflecting on how we view sustainability. With a focus ranging from environmental protection to social justice, and business economics to technology, we ask how the current paradigm of sustainability has developed over the last three decades. The 1987 Brundtland Commission’s definition of “sustainable development” – “development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” is still heavily cited today. The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals requires all disciplines and peoples working together if the many global challenges are to be reached by 2030.  What strides have we made?

Our panelists will address these topics of sustainability and what it means to them, but what does it mean to YOU?
