Veterinary students receive little training in environmental sustainability within clinical settings where their professional practices are formed. This project addresses that gap by embedding sustainability into required clinical rotations (VM 786A/B) through implementation of a Green Operating Room model. Using evidence-based practices from the Veterinary Green Theatre Checklist, students will learn environmentally responsible care through hands-on participation in surgical workflows. Enabled by the launch of CSU’s new Veterinary Hospital and Education Complex, this project integrates sustainability into core clinical training for all DVM students. The resulting framework is scalable across health professions, including medical, nursing, and biomedical training programs.
