SUMMARY:Managing the Planet | Low Snow\, High Stakes: Impacts Across Colorado
DESCRIPTION:Low snowfall is no longer an occasional challenge\, it’s a defining issue for Colorado’s economy\, ecosystems\, and water future. This panel brings together experts from CSU to discuss how declining snowpack and accelerating ice loss are reshaping the state. Panelists will offer insights behind changing snow and drought patterns\, the ripple effects on recreation and local economies\, and the growing pressures on water systems that serve communities\, agriculture\, and industry. What does Colorado’s future look like as we adapt to a lower-snow future? \nPanelists: \nJude Bayham\, Associate Professor\, Agricultural and Resource Economics\nAllie Mazurek\, Engagement Climatologist\, Colorado Climate Center\nDan McGrath\, Associate Professor\, Geosciences \nModerator: Gene Kelly\, SoGES Faculty Research Liaison\, Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station and Associate Dean of Extension

SUMMARY:SoGES Community Coffee Hour
DESCRIPTION:We’re hosting SoGES Community Coffee Hours/Lunches to create space for conversation and networking among members of our SoGES community (anyone new or SoGES-curious is welcome too). We’ll start with some lightly facilitated discussion on a timely topic related to sustainability to spark discussion\, followed by time to socialize\, catch up\, and meet others. Drop in or out any time during the hour.\n\nOur first coffee will be focused on the general landscape of U.S. immigration enforcement\, mass detention\, and its wide-ranging impacts on both human and environmental health. Josh Sbicca will lead the first portion by covering his current work on the environmental justice implications of rapidly expanding immigrant detention.\n\n\n \n \n SoGES Community Coffee RSVP\n RSVP form for SoGES community coffee \n \n Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Attending?*\n \n \n Yes\n \n \n \n No
